Sick website! The images load free of bugs and your work looks excellent. In fact, everything’s written very poignantly as well. “Roots” is my favorite series. I’m impressed. Jealous and impressed. Awesome work.
I don’t want to be lame, but some brief notes before the LOSTpremiere.
First off, this upcoming Tuesday is going to be JAM-PACKED. First off, Rob Zombie’sHellbilly Deluxe 2 finally gets released. Then there’s the three-hour Lost event. Then Aziz Ansari is going to be at the SOHO Apple Store (I’m not going, watching Lost with my woman is that important.) And I think it’s captainsunshine's birthday! Eep.
I was going to delve into my theories more whole-heartedly, but I’m simply not in the mood… The producer’s say they can’t release even a single frame from the first episode, because it’ll give away the new season. Further, they say that after the premiere you should be able to formulate the way the rest of the season is going. Sweet!
The new storytelling device: Again, the producers mention that they will be doing away with the flash backs and forths in favor of a new storytelling device. Doing so, this season will feel more like the first. Exciting. So, what then? Dreams? Obituary episodes where it tell what happened to the characters? My best guess: Backwards, likeMemento or Irreversible. This would make sense with the whole ‘after episode 1 you know what’s going on’ idea.
Meaninglessness: Most fans claim they’ll explode into violent uproar if the hydrogen bomb explosion works, effectively re-writing the show and making the first 5 seasons “meaningless.” I disagree. The more the show plays with the viewer and the idea offollowing a show, the more excited I am. If in season 6 the characters board a plane in Los Angeles and it lands in La-X safely, we follow the characters’ aimless lives until the show peters out.. I’d love that. If the show re-sets and the characters crash land on the island again, but this time befall a slightly different set of circumstances, with their story wrapping up in 1 season, I’d love that even more. In fact, that’s exactly where the show would go in my dreams. I welcome alternate realities.
I’m in for the ride, and the show’s poised for tattoo status. Bring it on.
